教育部更動歷史課綱引發爭議，高雄市長陳菊1日表示，歷史教育史料採用應本於真實，史觀應具有社會共識性又能兼顧多元文化視角，並且深化台灣民主成果、強化國民意識。而目前課綱的調整方案，並無法落實這些原則，也引發社會各界的疑慮，教育部應該經過對學界、文化界與社會大眾更廣泛的意見甄詢，並將各界意見充份納入，才來談課綱的更動與否。

陳菊說，作為民進黨執政縣市首長，在這樣攸關全國教育的議題上，將會與黨中央及各執政縣市進行討論，共同研議符合社會期待、保障人民受教權益、促進台灣社會進步的一致性行動方案。
